We just wrapped up the night here at Lutherwald!

Tonight was jam packed with fun. We headed out to our outpost area around six to make our dinner. We roasted our own hot dogs and had fun around the campfire. We played a very fun few rounds of capture the flag that culminated in a boys versus girls match. The boys were the winners, but the girls did a great job of defending they're flag until the end. After the game we came back to the campfire to make s'mores! Everyone had fun roasting marshmallows and then enjoying them.

After s'mores we all gathered around to sing some songs and do some skits around the fire. The pioneers are staying out tonight in the outpost shelters, and the pilgrims headed back to stay in their cabins.

We'll be saying goodbye to our pilgrims tomorrow at 2:00 with a closing program in the chapel. It'll be sad to say goodbye, and we'll miss them all!

Lookout for another update soon for the pioneer kids!

Week eight!

Week eight is off to a great start. We had lots of fun last night at campfire singing songs and doing skits for the campers.

Today is already halfway over! So far we've had breakfast, done our morning pleasures (chores around camp), cleaned our cabins, had songtime, Bible
Study, arts and crafts, and lunch. There's still plenty more activities going on this afternoon and tonight! Keep checking back for more.

Here's a picture of some of our pilgrim campers at campfire last night.

Half way there!

Camp is half over for the week, but it feels like we just got started. We have already done Romans and Christians, outpost, and a pretty sweet game called boofer, and we are hoping that the rain holds off long enough for us to go mud hiking this afternoon.

Outpost Night!
We all had a great night at outpost playing capture the flag (or storm the Bastille in honor of Bastille Day!) We roasted hotdogs and s'mores and had one awesome campfire. The week is going great and everyone is getting excited for the mud hike this afternoon (hopefully it doesn't rain!)

Day 1, Week 4

Our week is off to a great start here at Lutherwald!

We've got reading camp and a group of pilgrims here this week. We're having lots of fun with both of them. The reader campers had their first day of programming with Cleo and the rest of the reading camp staff! We hear that they're learning lots of great stuff.

While they were in Kempski working on that, we had songtime, Bible study, and arts and crafts with the pilgrims. Our theme today was about how we are 'Created to Serve.' In Bible study, we read Genesis 1:1-26. For our craft we made God's eyes with yarn and sticks. Then after that everyone met back up for lunch. Today's lunch was a delicious meal of.... TACOS! Everyone thought they were delicious.

Look for another update soon, maybe even a picture!

Outpost night!

We had a great time at outpost tonight!

The kids got to make their own hobo dinners on the fire and then we played a pretty epic game of capture the flag. And since it was outpost night we also got to makes s'mores! Here's a picture of a few kids hanging out by the fire roasting marshmllows.

Everyone's all tucked into their sleeping bags in outpost shelters with their cabin. Then, we'll be up early in the morning to trek back to camp for showers and breakfast!

We just finished up our first day of week three! The weather was gorgeous and we had a great time. We started the evening off with dinner, then headed down to the beach for our water olympics. The kids participated in a few relay races with their cabins, and choreographed a synchronized swimming routine. After canteen we had our opening campfire then headed off to bed.

We're taking lots of pictures for the picture CD's! Here's a picture of our view from the back deck of Hanes, our main building on camp.
